ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Gillian Howard

Founder and Fair Director of Digital Art Fair

Experienced in fine art galleries management, Gillian managed private museum collection and international galleries in Hong Kong and London before founding Digital Art Fair in Hong Kong in 2019. With an extensive knowledge of traditional art, NFT and new art tech in the Web3.0 space, she is now leading the Digital Art Fair Global team and curators on creating a brand new web 3.0 art experience combining art and technology such as blockchain, 3D mapping, VR and AR.

 

Gillian has been named one of most important female entrepreneur of the Web3.0 future and been featured in international publications regarding of her contribution of the art industry. She has consulted international NFTs and museum projects. Born and bred in Hong Kong, lived in London, Hong Kong and New York, Gillian is a trilingual fine art expert now based between Hong Kong and London. 

 

''I created Digital Art Fair with the goal to bring art & culture closer to the next generation of art lovers, with a focus in bringing technology to the international Art Scene with NFT art and immersive art experience. I believe in creativity that leads to solving social problems, understanding of diversity and difference will create a more harmonious society for everyone and for the future generation. In my free time, I enjoy going outdoor, practicing meditation, yoga and walking my two dogs with my two young children.''

Dr. Henrietta Tsui-Leung

Founder and CEO of Ora-Ora and President Emeritus of Hong Kong Art Gallery Association

Dr. Henrietta Tsui-Leung is founder and CEO of Ora-Ora, a Hong Kong-based contemporary art gallery with a global vision. Ora-Ora made history as the first gallery to present NFTs at Art Basel Hong Kong in 2021. Ora-Ora has a purpose-built gallery space in Tai Kwun in Hong Kong, and reaches a large online audience internationally through its Ora-Ora Live platform. Henrietta believes in finding common ground and mutual benefit, and is at the nexus and forefront of art, finance and technology. She co-founded the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association in 2012, which has since grown to include more than 60 members.

 

Henrietta is also co-founder of MetaKapital, which enables institutional clients to launch their presence in the metaverse. MetaKapital’s services include tokenization, creation of digital intellectual property, design and management of NFT projects, and the marketing and development of digital strategies. In 2023, MetaKapital is the project manager for a unique collaboration with the Hong Kong Philharmonic: the global premiere of Elliot Leung’s The Metaverse Symphony, the world’s first symphonic work to be premiered in both a concert hall and The Sandbox metaverse. Henrietta has been studying blockchains and their application in art since 2014, completing her PhD degree in Art Theory at Shanghai University in 2018. Her doctorate thesis was a Comparative Study on Art Finance Development between the East and the West. She is a Founding Patron of M+ Museum of Visual Culture,as well as Hong Kong Palace Museum,  and an active member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation Hong Kong. Henrietta has been awarded with Top 100 Chinese Women Entrepreneurs and Collector of the Year by Xinhuanet in China.

Tobias Berger

Head of Arts at Tai Kwun Contemporary

Tobias Berger is Head of Arts at the JC Central Police Station project in Hong Kong. Previously he has worked at the Kunsthalle Fridericianum, the Triennial in Vilnius, ARTSPACE in Auckland, Para/Site Art Space in Hong Kong, was Chief Curator at the Nam June Paik Art Center in Korea and curator at M+ in Hong Kong. 

Roy Weissbach

Founding Partner at CLUB DAO

Roy has experience as an entrepreneur, in business development, operations, and as an event management professional with 10 years of experience growing businesses and establishing networks across the APAC region. Throughout his career, Roy has worked for start-ups in food and beverage, music tech, yachting, health, and well-being sectors.  Roy has a wealth of international experience having been raised in Germany, studied in Austria and South Korea while having worked in Europe Asia and the Middle East. He most recently headed up Business Development and Partnerships for a Hong Kong-based carbon management startup, organized Asia's first Impact NFT exhibition in Hong Kong to create digital assets that track and measure impact alongside the 17 UN-SDGs by using NFT technology, and co-founded ClubDAO, HK's first private member club for crypto, blockchain, DeFi and NFT enthusiasts.

 

Roy holds a Bachelor's degree in International Business Studies from the University of Applied Science in Kufstein (Austria) during which time he spent 2 semesters on an exchange at Yonsei University in Seoul (South Korea). He is a certified event manager by the AHK Munich - German Chamber of Commerce. With a strong passion for social impact, Roy became one of the founding members of Impact Circles, the social impact community, with chapters in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and San Francisco with over 2,000 members globally.
